Amazon unveiled their engine, Lumberyard, at GDC 2015. We were approached to help them showcase their engine’s graphic capabilities. Our job was not only to highlight what Lumberyard could do, but also push its boundaries. We arrived at Nanomo, a game concept where players control swarms of nanobots navigating through inner space fighting a cancer on a cellular level. This concept created the opportunity for us to push Lumberyards rendering capabilities in a unique and unexpected way. We helped to develop and implement several custom shaders and post processing filters, which allowed us to push the engine how it had not been used before.
